By and large true. "Pirates" and all the G & S oeuvre have
spoken dialogue, so I think it's fair to call them operetta.
"Evita" has no spoken dialogue (except for the few closing words
from Che), but then, "Tosca" has the "Et avanti lui a trema
tutta Roma" spoken. I think "Evita" could fairly be
described as opera.
