Yes, that is exactly what I've written.

I'm not disbelieving you.
 
The original question was about having retraining 'enabled',  and after the
Courier owners jumped in with their response it was queried why is it
obviously this way,  given the different possibilities.
 
The Courier has defined 'retrain disabled' to mean reject remote request.
My modem and others has defined 'retrain disabled' to mean accept remote
request but not initiate request.
 
Having the Courier hang up 'in disgust' seems to be quite illogical
compared to the way my modem handles it.
