Hello Kris
I have now spent some time with genmac from netlabs genmac100.zip since
I assume you meant the wrapper not the older native OS/2 genmac. Since you
mentioned specifically the Dlink Atheros support I have tried first the
specific DLink G-520+ driver and since I get the message that "no
valid hardware found at..." during boot I since tried all 3 of the
Atheros drivers. My problem may have to do with naming convention. These
drivers have Vendor and Device numbers and I cannot tell if any of them are
supposed to be for my particular nic and it's exact chipset. You may know
that the G-520 came out as 2 different revisions with 2 slightly different
chipsets requiring 2 different drivers in windows. Since the genmac is a
windows driver wrapper this has to be important in OS/2 as well. I have
removed my G-520 and searched all over the card and written down every
number I can find. None of them remotely match genmac's identification
scheme. To be specific genmac lists
Vendor 104C which I suppose must be DLink
and
Device 9066 and here lies the problem.
How can I verify which revision this "Device # 9066" refers to?
While I might assume it isn't mine since it fails to load I am not one to
jump to conclusions and file a report with someone like Netlabs if the
problem lies elsewhere. SO since yours is working is yours a HW ver B3?
Thanks again Kris both for any help you might render here and for
alerting me to genmac in the first place. It got me excited... but then, I
excite easily about hardware... guess I'm a geek.
Jimmy
