So granted. You have taken a lot of heat from me for your insistence
that statistics measure a player's ability. Well they don't.
Statistics measure a player's performance. From a player's performance
certain inferences may be made as to their ability.
As for your Carlos Baerga thing, you are arguing that because Baerga is
bad this year that he was bad in previous years. I say that if Baerga's
statistical measures decline it indicates a decline in Baerga's
performance, this year from previous years.
