JW> I just finished two books. One was 'The Jewel That Was Ours', an
JW> Inspector Morse by Colin Dexter. When I read the intro, I discovered
JW> The other was Tony Hillerman's 'The Fallen Man'. Good book. Good
Two authors I have heard so many good things about, neither of which I
have read. I wish I could read 12 hours a day. I am in the
middle of Troy Soos' new one "Hunting a Detroit Tiger". If you like
historical mysteries, you'll like Troy's books. This one is set in
Detroit in 1920 when there were union wars going on. A union organizer
is killed and the newspapers report that the main character, Mickey
Rawlings, a utility infielder for the Tigers killed him in self-defense.
Mickey sets out to prove himself innocent. Lots of historical facts. One
I likes was that in 1920 the league was trying to phase out spitballs so
only 2 pitchers on each team were allowed to use it.
... Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.
