Some of us are old enough to remember when the British pound was
the international monetary standard of worthiness.

When the British dissipated themselves fighting Fascism, the
pound was replaced by the American dollar.

(Considering todays history-lesson-in-process, one might want to
hang on to their loonies for when it soon becomes the international
standard 8-?
