Having just moved to Office97, I am discovering a few quirks that I
can't solve myself.
1. Date. In the Insert --> Date box, there are alternative formats for
the date, the first of which is something like 4/12/97 and the third of
which is April 12, 1997. There is a button marked "Default," and the
Tool Tips (or maybe it's the Office Assistant) says that using the
button will set the default. But when I re-boot, I have to go thru the
same rigamarole again. Suggestions?
2. Envelopes. Two problems here. I have set the default font as Times
New Roman 12 point. When I use the envelope feature, the font is a
different larger one, and I have not been able to figure out how to
change the font for envelopes. Suggestions?
3. Tracking changes. I cannot figure out how to set a default here (in
Normal.dot) so I do not have this feature activated. Often--but
unpredictably so--when I "reuse" a letter (change the name, etc.), and
go to print, it will show the revision markings. Sometimes the letter
prints ok, but the envelope will print with the name and address
underlined (as if indicating new text). Suggestions?
