Ahem. Ask deltaComm about RPI. The licensing agreement opens up RPI
developers to lawsuits from Microcom.

Also, any specification like that which is covered by ANY type of
non-disclosure agreement deserves to be crushed. Good hardware is supported
by good amateur coders. Hardware which isn't good enough to have its full
specifications published deserves to die. This goes most particularly for
the WinModem. I don't care if USR don't release details of how /they/
implemented protocols using the WinModem DSP, but they have a moral
obligation to make full specifications of how to program the DSP available
so that third parties can develop drivers for the product.
