LE>> If USR will not allow third parties to develop drivers for it without LE>> all the legal nonsense that Rockwell wrapped around RPI, RT> Rockwell did allow third parties to develop RPI and RPI+ software, just Ahem. Ask deltaComm about RPI. The licensing agreement opens up RPI developers to lawsuits from Microcom. Also, any specification like that which is covered by ANY type of non-disclosure agreement deserves to be crushed. Good hardware is supported by good amateur coders. Hardware which isn't good enough to have its full specifications published deserves to die. This goes most particularly for the WinModem. I don't care if USR don't release details of how /they/ implemented protocols using the WinModem DSP, but they have a moral obligation to make full specifications of how to program the DSP available so that third parties can develop drivers for the product. -- Lewin A.R.W.
