subject: Re: [OS2HW] Wireless security

Hi Ray
I think it might be best to diagnose the booting problem first so I hope
you don't mind that for this post anyway I have snipped everything in the
interest of brevity if not clarity. As you may have read from my post that
branches off from this one I am in the process of getting wireless working
too so I am no expert. However this mobo has 2 onboard nics as well as the
wireless and I can at east attempt to load all 3 with only the wireless
erroring out (wrong chipset for ndiswrapper) but never is my boot stopped,
only paused till I hit CR/Enter. I can't help but wonder what can freeze
the boot altogether simply due to multiple nics. Several years ago I might
have suggested there might be an irq or other resource conflict. However
now I assume you already have tried disabling any unneeded resources
(unused serial and/or parallel ports) and made sure the bios entry for
"PNP OS Installed = disabled" or whatever the exact wording is on
your bios setup, so I don't know what to offer o

ther than seek the answer to this problem first since you'd prefer, and
there's no reason against it, that both work. Whatever causes the boot
failure may be linked to connect failures since this must be a fairly
serious hardware config issue. Maybe pci.exe might help you at detemining
how OS/2 see's/sets up your hardware resources.
Hope this helps
Jimmy
