Ahh we don't swim chuckle..  shallow water only.. remember I'm still using my 
good saddle although I don't treat it the same since the accident.. it got 
beat up..  
 
She didn't want to at first and instead of  risking a wreck.. I went back and 
walked her down by hand and got her to step in the mud.. then the water..  
came back the next day on Coffee (aka Mongo) and eased her back in..
 
We'll work up to going across at the shallow part.. but I"m not fond since 
the footing is lousely for a unshod horse and the water is somewhat poluted.. 
I hose them off when we get back.
 
It's a tricky river.. remember the LA river is cemented in.. and even where 
there's dirt and/or sand.. there's also algie and you have to be careful. 
I've seen one to many wrecks there.. so we'll see..
 
I just have one to many reservations about me or the horse getting hurt right 
now..
