Fair do's, retracted JF> Fraud is a pretty strong word, I hope you'll pick something else. Would'nt want you to get tarred with the same brush that RPI in its earlier days got caught with. But how does one determine a "real" modem from its controller-less counterpart by simple generic name? Like the majority of people in here, I think we consider a modem to consist of MDP (Modem Data Pump), MCU (Microcontroller), a ROM which contains the MCU firmware, telephone line interface and protection circuitry, power rails' filtration, plus host control interface Spot what's missing in a WinModem :) Regarding the word fraud: ever ready to assist, I'm happy to substitute "misleading" With all good wishes to you at Sun City rgdZ :) Richard --- FMail/386 1.02* Origin: PackLink - Home of Zoom_Modem 01812972486 (2:254/235) SEEN-BY: 50/99 115/500 623/630 625/100 635/503 544 711/410 413 430 808 809 SEEN-BY: 711/932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 771/1120 800/1 @PATH: 115/477 500 50/99 711/808 934 |
