Man, talk about hiway robbery!!! At Pacific Bell, if the customer is not
on the inside wire plan ($.60 a month) then we will charge $45 + $16 (15 min
increments) to repair inside wire problems, but once you fix it, it is
warranteed for 90 days...if you have a problem again in that time it is fixed
for free. At this point about all I can suggest is asking for a supervisor
when you make the call to repair, not just talking to the clerk, and ask if
there is a number you can reach them back at other than the regular repair
number. If they won't give you a number ask for their supervisor until they
will give you a number...remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, if you
make enough noise, maybe even threatening to go to the body that Regulates
the phone company (PUC?) they just might fix something...and bring up the
privacy issue...tell then you will go to the FCC about that one...
