Ok, you've outlined a problem. :)
My problem with your message - what is the solution? You asked for some kind
of action, but I'm unclear as to what you want done, exactly. 'Less humans on
the planet,' obviously. :) But, how do we acheive that?
Humans come in 2 flavors -> 1. Low-negative growth, affluent, high-consuming
humans, or 2. High growth, poor, low-consuming humans.
Now, how do you fix the problem? You can't reach the high growth humans until
you educate them. And you can't educate them until you build roads, schools,
mass media, etc. This, of course, turns them into high-consuming humans.
Often, I'm told, folks like us Americans are the root of all eco problems,
because we are affluent, high-consuming humans. And as you now point out,
continued human population growth (from the low-consuming humans) is also a
problem.
Short of gunning a whole bunch of people down, I don't see a workable
solution to this. But then, I'm not looking real hard, either! :)
I'd be interested in hearing what, exactly, you propose should be done about
the problem. :)
(See, I just saw a tagline in another area that went like this: "Earth 98%
full. Please delete unnecessary people." Comments like this scare me _at
least_ as much as over population scares you!!! :)
