My mother trims her hibiscus way down, almost to the ground.
She used to give me and my father fits, thinking she was killing
them, but the buggers come back just as healthy as before.
She doesn't like them to get so high that they obscure her
view from the front or back porch.

We have LOTS of hibiscus around here. They seem to love our
climate, but I've never seen a white or blue one. Well, I have
seen the white with peach center.
I don't have any hibiscus around my house. I wish I did.
They're cheap enough too. One garden store had them on sale
last week. I think it was a one gallon pot. 2 for $4.00
I don't have any room now. I'll have to wait 'till I manage to
kill the next plant.
I have a lot of Lantana that I'm planning on pulling up when
the weather gets cooler.
