JH> I'm running a 12000 bps modem and PPP. It's rare for the receive light

If you are not getting maximum thruput, try using SLiRP. However you
can only use that program if you got a UNIX account. SLiRP is not as
flexible as PPP, since it provides PPP through emulation. However, because
SLiRP buffers all data on your server, you will get maximum thruput most
of the time.
