Sometimes all you care about it what freq they're using over there a few
yards away. :)
I've never really seen one, but I don't think it's really designed to
be used as a "scanner". I think what is for is grabbing freqs when you
don't know it already. I mean you hide it under your jacket at the
ballgame, let it lock onto the Bullpen, Security Guards and Whatever.
Then you copy what it found into your real scanner unless your interest
is just temporary.
I sure beats sitting somewhere and setting your scanner to check between
30Mhz and 1.3 Gig and then figuring out if what you hear is what you want
or something going on miles away. I'd be kinda neat to carry when watching
fires and stuff. If they change to a "secret" freq......who cares?
