Hi TJ,
I have dabbled with it and and have spoken to others which have also. I
do not think it passes IP ( at least as of yet, but am not sure ). Others
have said that it works very well though. Some even using it and running
their old front end mailers from it. I have had it set up with Telegard and
Your Renegade and it worked very well, to be honest especially renegade.
Telegard for some reason has some protocol issues, and is flaky. I ran
renegade with it and could upload and download with no problems with the
protocols. It is so easy to setup. Not like comip.
If I am not mistaken, in the little time I used it, I can't see why if you
already have a software which can pass on the ip address, why it still
wouldn't work under netserial. It is not like a gameserv. It monitors the
port, but does not load your bbs. In other words. Running renegade. I would
have loaded renegade as if I was using a regular modem and it would sit at
the WFC waiting for a call and react to the call like it was a dialup system.
Unlike gameserv it does not need to be called through a batch file. Something
I did not do, but I hear it does, like above. You just run your system like
mailer etc like you did back in the earlier days. I just ran Irex and loaded
the bbs separately.
Worth a try, You could have it up and running in less that 3 minutes. and if
you don't like it.. just uninstall.
