    I'm really sorry, Jasen. I haven't studied gcc assembler.

    What does "movl $-2,eax" do? If it subtracts 2 from eax, then
it all looks ok to me, but I do not know the order of operands in your
assembler, so at best it's a guess on my part to say yea or nay. My guess
is yea. :-)
