When you get a good one, they just keep on working.. ;-) I've had a
Sharp HIFI vcr since '88; it only has 2 video heads, you had to
program the channels via a panel on top of the unit, but it's still
going strong. Had a NEC which required a new recording head and the
cost for the part alone was $350, another Magnavox (aka Matsushita)
hifi vcr had a power supply go bad. I didn't even bother with a quote
when the second one went bad - picked up a brand new Sharp 4head hifi
for $165 on sale at a local department store.
