CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder)
claims to be the friend of people with ADD. Their newsletter
contains articles about treatment, support, advocacy and
legal issues in education. What they _don't_ carry are
articles about the rights of people with ADD outside of
school.
A look at CHADD policies, practices and procedures suggests
why: For years CHADD has had the policy, practice and
procedure of sponsoring individuals as leaders of CHADD
recognized support groups. However, they _refuse_ to
sponsors adults with ADD as group leaders. If your _child_
has ADD, you can be a group leader. If _you_ have ADD you
can't.
THIS IS DISCRIMINATION!
I have been writing to CHADD about this for months. They do
not respond.
THEREFORE, anyone with ADD who is interested in a class
action lawsuit against CHADD for discrimination against
adults with ADD is invited to contact:
