I presently have a SATA-1 harddisk runninf off a Silicon Image chipped
SATA PCI card and a DVD-ROM and DVD-RW running off the motherboard EIDE
(PATA) controller. All work using the latest DANI drivers.

I believe that the DANI drivers also support SATA-II.

SATA PCI cards normally only come with two ports, however if you only
have one SATA harddisk and one PATA CD/DVD Drive there are hardware
convertors that you can plug onto PATA drives to convert them to SATA,
so it may be possible to plug one of these convertors onto your CD.DVD
drive but if you have the motherboard PATA (EIDE) connector, I would
recommend you use this for your CD/DVD drive as I have and leave the
SATA controller just for your harddisk (s).

Ed.
