It's odd, CEntral Texas used to be a hotbed for BBSes even to about 8-10 
years ago, but none survived the Internet boom.  Even some BBSes survived 
in bigger cities like Dallas and Austin, but Waco/Temple/Killeen and 
surrounding areas (which I'd guess had 200-300 BBSes combined at one point) 
to this day have nothing.  Well mine is probably the only one I know of 
anyway.

I've thought about putting an ad in the local paper advertising my board 
and seeing if any oldschool BBSers are still around, or if any newcomers 
are out there.  We have a VERY active technical college with a few compute 
rprograms that attract folks from all over, and I know when I went there 8 
years ago, even though the WWW was taking off, BBSes within the college 
itself were booming!
