Yeah but to stop it being a North American problem you'd have to build the
fence on the north bank of the Panama canal & then deal with the
problems from there on North.
So let's discuss how well North America is doing vs Europe. We have dealt
with the majority of the nastiest problems stemming from being divided by
communism (with the notable exception of Belarus)
Most of the countries are doing well to OK & most of our illegal
immigrants are from another continent i.e. Africa.
Most of your illegal immigrants are internal to the Continent & few of
the other countries are truely settled democracies.
Once you start seeing things in continental terms as the the US right likes
to do wrt Europe then suddenly things look less rosy for the north american
continent.
