Hi, Sondra,

SB> Or wander up to their local Indian, and make the same request. I know
SB> a couple who just came back from a summer touring the west, including
SB> the Grand Canyon. They went to a couple of Indian rezes, and,
SB> apparently, picked up literature to read while there. They came back,
SB> telling me "Did you know that the Navajo don't like to be called
SB> Navajo; and that only the Hopi should make Kachina dolls?" "Yes," I
SB> grinned. And I thought, "It took a tour of the West, and probably a
SB> few blunders on a reservation, but at least they're finally learning
SB> something."
Better late than never. This couple has a leg up on most non-Indian
people in that they actually know something valid, no matter how little
that something is.
Take care,
Robin
