You're right, that is a current and growing problem -- neither Bush and the
Reps, nor the Dems of future power are willing to do anything about it in
time. They're throwing the political "700 miles of fence"
football around, but their hearts aren't in it and the odds are it'll be
undermined one way or another (I see the environmentalists are already
floating an "endangered jaguar" canard) and never get anywhere
near that many miles built, if any.
