You'll note while Mark is happy to refer to Europe he's much less willing
to talk about it's corollary i.e. North America coz that includes the
largest source for "new Americans" aka Mexico which is.....in
much much worse shape & which could be dragged up by
"Europeans" to point to wrt "North Americans".

Major poverty, riots, hung elections, strikes, insurgencies, ethnic
discrimination, police brutality, poorly performing economy, drug lords
running wild, organized crime controlling whole states, the Army being sent
in to control towns held by protesters.

Oh yes it's all going on in "North America".

Humm lets type mexico into Google news & see what's top...

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=mexico&btnG=Search+News

http://www.boston.com/news/world/latinamerica/articles/2006/11/02/tensions_boil
_after_showdown_in_mexico/

"Tensions boil after showdown in Mexico Oaxaca spotlights the crises
facing fragile democracy"

"For many Mexicans, the showdown offers a taste of many more such
crises to come as the decades-old authoritarian order gives way to a still
evolving and fragile democracy.

"There could be other 'Oaxacas' all over Mexico," said Jorge
Zepeda, a political analyst and newspaper commentator. "It reflects
the deep inequalities and injustices of Mexican society that institutional
politics is finding very hard to channel.""

The next one down is:

.html

& that's not much better.

So it looks like North America has much worse problems than Europe. I
wonder if North America will survive? Europe has managed to take down it's
walls where North America appears to be erecting them.
