In fact the rest of the world is cheering your president & legislature on as it will allow us to "capture all the IP" & then when you need a lifesaving treatment, part of the high cost will be going to the UK et al. Hurrah. Humanity is not about to falter from this road just coz of the views etc of some nutty north american humans. Oddly only a couple of months ago I was having a set of meetings wrt modeling these sort of treatments for the NHS. Wrt someone inserting your own cells back into you body.....Is it an operation?
