You cannot connect faster than 14k4 with your modem unless the remote
modem also supports V.Fast or V.FC

Try AT&F&C1&D2S95=43&W then ATZ for init.  Better you use AT&F&C1&D2S95=43
as init.  Don't know what software you're using but at the end of string
there should be a carriage return character of some sort.  FrontDoor uses
a pipe |  Terminate uses ctrlM  ^M
Some current production modems that still support V.FC are Supra336+ or
288+, USR Courier, Zoom WorldClass V34 (but not V34Plus models).
Many other modems have dropped V.FC support for their upgrade to V34Plus
and/or support for Videophone.   Sorry, no V.FC support on this BBS here
