You have me there... I imagine I would walk around the house and write down 
everything that was plugged in.
Then go and examine these devices for any power rating stickers and jot that 
down.  For those that have no rating, either build an extension cord with an 
inline ammeter and calculate the wattage or go out side to the meter, time 
it, turn the device on, time it again, etc for a few cycles and try and 
calculate the power from those results.
Next, for each device, guess at the time it is on for the month.
Add it all up and see how close you come... if a lot keep hunting... if a 
little, chalk it up to errors.
