From: "Phil Payne" > ... building on an already existing lack of support for the regime among Iranians. You have to wonder where they get this shit from. Same with Iraq - "They will welcome us toppling an oppressive dictator". Bollocks. Iraq had possibly the most enlightened regime of all Arab states, including as one example an unrestricted right of divorce for women. Now one has been stoned to death for trying to marry someone from another religion. This is somehow progress? I cannot get my mind around the USA's hatred for Saddam Hussein. I just cannot understand what he was doing that could in ANY way be considered even moderately unpleasant. He tried out the USA's poison gas and was revolted by the results. He was vehemently anti-terrorism and even had Abu Nidal killed when he wouldn't leave. And as for all the bullshit - no WMD, no torture records, no rape rooms, no tunnels under Baghdad, nothing. NOTHING. Actually the only country documented to have used torture is the USA. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
