Sounds like you changed your DTE (port speed) to 19200, which is not
particularly clever if you're running a 28k8 modem, as you'll restrict its
maximum connect speed to 19k2bps.

Sounds like it's reporting Carrier, as there is no recognised DTE speed of
14400.  You might be better off asking somebody who uses Telix regularly,
as there are a few problems with the later versions, plus a few traps for
the unwary, such as making sure you don't enter a lower speed than your
modem is capable of doing, in the dialling directory.  Have you made sure
that Telix's "autobaud detect" feature has been disabled, BTW?
