Oh quite. Being seen to be in anyway supported by the US is becoming
poisonous right round the region. Look at Fateh. One wonders quite how
chuffed the Lebanese gov was wrt pickies of a US mil transport on the
ground at Beirut international. I am surprised it wasn't a night flight. I
suspect that any future flights will be.

I wouldn't characterize him thus. He was violently anti-AQ (along with the
other western bugbear of Qaddafi). However he did organize etc the whole
Iranian embassy thing in the 80'es & various other unpleasant events.
