 SA> like that.

PL> I can... and it's not lowering myself to bust the ego of somebody like
PL> that who will flame other software where such an ego is not justified.
PL> I have evaluated, many times, Synch... despite all of its boasted
PL> about IP capabilities, as a BBS software it is crap. No REAL SysOp
PL> would run it... only those who want a quick and easy setup so they can
PL> say "lookee, lookee... I run a BBS... sure... it looks almost exactly
PL> like every other BBS that runs my crappy software and I can't do much
PL> about that, but it's a BBS!" Moral of the story... if you've seen one
PL> crappy Synch BBS, you've seen them all! Those who don;t think so,
PL> telnet into a bunch of them... the originality of the setups is like
PL> the difference between green and green.
PL> The inter BBS chat? Yougoittabekiddinme... what crap.

PL> Those 16 bit BBS programs that use crappy kludges like SyncFos???
PL> Um... where did that crappy thing come from? I prefer NetFos myself.
PL> Proprietary message bases dependant on the internal scanner/tosser...
 PL> crap, crap, crap.

PL> The Fidonet setup... the crapiest I've ever seen... also understand
PL> there are FTSC conflicts with some items.
PL> The customization abilities (going back to green to green comparison)
PL> are a joke and a half... they are minimal at the best and a dog to
 PL> work with.
PL> Much more that I can't even recall, but there is more.

PL> The final conclusion... if one wants to be a lazy SysOp and just have
PL> an "on the fly" out of the box system that looks like
everybody elses,
PL> that nearly requires a degree in rocket science to personalize to a
PL> reasonable level, then by all means choose Synchronet... have all your
PL> supposed INet bells and whistles on a crappy system, or choose a real
PL> 32bit BBS software like EleBBS, or go with a good old 16bit BBS
PL> software like ProBoard (back in development, 32bit version in the
PL> process, rights bought from TeleGrafix --http://proboardbbs.com---),
PL> TG, Renegade, or any one of the real board softwares of the golden
PL> days out there with GameSrv as your telnet server... I guarantee the
PL> SysOp will get more personal satisfaction that way.

At first thought this was another attack. Then your basically
agreeing with me. So good to see it. Though I don't run Synch.
Maybe you meant this to someone else.
