I hope they tested mono vision with contacts first.  I tried to adjust to
mono/contacts for 2 months before giving up.   I had frequent bouts
of double/split vision, particularly in dim light and low contrast
situations (and, worst of all,  after just a couple of beers.

Every now and then, too, my depth perception went awry, not good when driving.

It would have been a disaster if I'd done that permanently via surgery.

During that time, I read that women adjusted to mono vision much more
readily than men.  Can't decide if it's brain wiring or vanity, though
