| subject: | Modem dropping carrier |
In a msg on , Paul Hendrie wrote to All: PH> Can anyone help me with a small problem with my modem. PH> After about 15mins online to my BBS the carrier drops out PH> without any warning. PH> Can anyone suggest a cause and remedy for the problem. The cause is the touchphone in your house. The remedy is to take it back to Telstra (assuming it is a rental one) and ask for it to be changed to a later model one that doesn't cause the problem. There is no charge for this change-over. The early touchphones (flat membrane key-pads and raised mustard-coloured keys models) had a problem with modems and the power when recharging the memory. The later models (raised grey key-pads) fixed this problem. Vicki --- msgedsq 2.1* Origin: Computer Connection - Adelaide, Aust.
