An Arkansas innocent
The sex-and-lies scandal is taking its toll on President Clinton,
USA Today reports.
"Some longtime aides portray an uncomfortable president who,
despite a brave front, seems not to be himself. At a party last
week for a departing aide, according to one of the guests, he
described himself as an Arkansas innocent under fire by the
wicked Washington establishment," said reporters Susan Page and
Bill Nichols.
The reporters added: "Aides are debating whether Clinton should
attend two formal dinners this spring -- the Gridiron Dinner for
senior journalists and top policy-makers, and the White House
Correspondents' Association Dinner -- where his attendance is
expected but he can count on facing jokes at his expense. His
occasional practice of walking back on Air Force One to chat with
reporters during long flights has abruptly ended.

Gee, not talking to reporters in the back of the plane anymore, 
huh.  I'll bet he's especially not talking to CNN anymore since
they organized the Ohio Pep Rally.  :: chuckle ::
