| subject: | Re: revolt on immigration hits RNC |
From: Gary Britt I agree he is arrogant and condescending and that is infuriating to those who oppose him on something. Its the elitist Kennebunkportian rich boy in him, and elitists are seldom true conservatives. Elitists are usually quite happy as democrats, but that's another story. I agree arrogant and condescending applies to him, and the elitism and arrogance may contribute highly to his being so infuriatingly deaf eared to those around him and his own supporters. I don't agree at all with mendacity however. He is a genuinely honest person. He doesn't deliberately lie. He just fucks up a lot due to his incompetence and his deaf eared arrogance and inability to get competent people around him makes for a whole lot of incompetence. And I don't blame just Bush for the things about which I am furious at the official republican party. The incompetence and lack of core values that permeates, still permeates and has permeated the leadership of the republican party in congress and in the party apparatus since 1998 has been a huge factor in the party losing its base of support. Then you have the incompetent Bush appointing, directly or in effect, a whole slew of like minded incompetent loyalists to party leadership positions and you have a situation were republicans with the blessing of the official party leaders are having secret meetings with Democrats to sell out the Country, their party, and their supporters. If immigration reform passes it will be unquestionably true that 12 years of Bush was worse for the country than 8 years of Clinton.
