| subject: | Re: [OS2HW] Can I use this CD DVD drive? |

However I would not be shocked that it could be accomplished with just a single, but solid, generational leap on a well-balanced system maxed out with quality ram (by the then constrained levels), with discrete soundcard and AGP X2, 32 meg video card. Anything more is gravy. > Jimmy > > > We are talking about using this drive under OS/2, not under Windoze, not under Linux. Our video capabilities under OS/2 are somewhat limited, strikingly so compared to the other two. the real question is, will this Plextor 740 work under OS/2 performing its intended function as a DATA device?? Most of us are agreeing that it will do that, regardless of processor speed or RAM installed. Again, we don't really care what the box says about minimum processor requirements under OS/2 as we will NOT connect our PC to a TV, we will not watch DVD movies on our PC. In my case, TV and computer are in SEPARATE rooms, over 20 feet apart, and when we move to the new house we will start building later this month, computer and TV will be over 50 feet apart. This PC does not have DVI, does not have TV tuner. No matter what Pie faced Billy's crew wants us to believe, computers and TVs are not necessarily one and the same. They don't have to be, they don't need to be, in many, many cases. -- http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=sah&userid=190817> Yahoo!
