From: Gary Britt Yeah, that's why I've held off because of wrinkling caused by souchering on the transplant they couldn't guarantee my post operative vision would be as good as I get with the contacts. I wear my hard contacts over a zero power soft contact lens. That cushioning helps extend wearing time and avoids blisters. However, even doing that you still have to have an eye doctor who is very experienced in fitting contacts on keratoconus patients or you are just wasting your time and money. Most eye doctors can't even do a refraction on me and aren't smart enough to know they should try (because the cornea keeps changing shape during the test when I take my contacts off). It also takes special Cone lenses that have a cone vault to them that makes them unlike normal contact lenses. I have good luck with "KomfortKone" brand lenses from a company called MetroSoft in Austin, Texas.
