I originally posted the following to CompuServe earlier this evening,
in the PCVENB forum (GO POWERBASIC). I have little interest in seeing this
become an echomail project, as I've never seen one worth a flip succeed (e.g.
FREEDOS, numerous BBS coding projects, etc.). Here it is:
=====
The BBS runs here on weekends, and weeknights after regular work
ours
(we can't get the fax switch to work). The number is 407-354-0079. Normally,
the BBS serves no other purpose than to allow me to read Fidonet and UseNet
mail. I am now going to use it as a clearing house for some code. I will,
beginning Saturday, post whatever I have come up with as far as Netware 3.12
related code is concerned. This will include what I have written, as well as
others. I will post a message to ALL in the General Message area with the
details.
Everything contributed will be shared with the free world. I am more
interested in this as a learning process. There is no profit motive. So if
you're interested in either learning, or sharing your knowledge on network
programming, come visit. There is a QWK mail processor online, so you can
transfer messages and run. The BBS software is currently Maximus, but we are
soon to resurrect TBBS, for which I do make money writing add-on's for
(MAKEUL,
most notably, written in PB). I've seen projects like this flop on Fidonet
and
even here on CIS. Judging by my eMail, there is a lot of interest in this
area. Let's do it.

By the way, I see that QUIK_BAS still gets over 50 posts a day, with
very little READABLE code. Traffic in here has dropped to near nothing.
his
is very disappointing in light of the fact that PB is a far superior compiler
to QB. I hope things pick up in here.
