Your answer is quite encouraging.
I always suspected that my problems were related to a memory problem.
Like you, I am very careful about closing everything I open (tables,
forms, TCursors, etc). However, it seems to me that Paradox for Windows
itself has a problem. Consider this:
I open WFW 3.11 and get 18529K free memory (on a 8 MB PC). I run PFW
4.5 and get 16991K. Then, I open and close many times a Borland Demo
form (such as Scuba Diving/Fishes), thus preventing people assuming
there should be something wrong with my ObjectPAL programming.
After 5 min., I quit Paradox and get only 18478K. So, where are the
missing 51K ? It doesn't seem a lot, but you can waste much more memory
if you open/close forms for a longer time. I tried this several times
with consistent results.
In addition, I am wondering why Borland found it useful to deliver PFW
with TUTILITY !!
BTW, you found that a minimum of 10 MB fixed the problem. Does it mean
that with 8 MB - which is usual on most PCs (well, it's better than 4
MB!) - you'll get problems with PFW ?
