I thought the first series was good, with one or two exceptions, I can't
remember story names at the moment.  But I thought the later epsiodes were
much better than the original.

There has been some discussion in the RED DWARF echo similiar to this, with
many prefering the first series, I also prefered the later series with RD.

No idea, I think you just have to be lucky, ie be in the bookshop at the
right time, I have managed to pick up a few, although I don't know how many
there were actually written.
