I just put some silver grease between my CPU and its cooler.

Mind you this thing has been running at around 57C; 53C if I put
pressure on the cooler just right.

Now after a long runup it's showing a consistent 47C - creeping up to
48C only if I run a bunch of things at once (extremely rare here).  I
don't mind at all!  :-)

BTW, Circuit City has silver grease.  About $19 USD.  I didn't get mine
there.
