I got the paperwork today: 7000+ shots of laser into my eyes over a period
of 8 seconds. That's scary, good thing they didn't tell me that beforehand
. The new thingamajick monitors eye movement during the operation, and
has a very low (below 1%) failure rate, and of those failures very few are
sever (i.e. cannot be fixed with another operation).
