Hello Jack:
I guess if your DOS app is working perfectly, then the Borland DataBase
Engine is not so bad. In fact, I used to be quite happy with Paradox
for Windows.
But, I find that their database files are too easy to corrupt. I suspect
a corruption happens when you have too little free memory. Even if you
are particularly careful about closing everything you open, Paradox
doesn't seem to release all the memory. So, if your customer is working
all day long on your app, the probability of a corrupted file or a
lockup gradually increases.
So, if the culprit is not the Borland DBE, it should be Paradox itself
or ... hell no, impossible ... Windows itself?
