I'm happy to hear that the shoes solved his problem. They can get creative
about getting to that grass can't they?

Where do you live? I thought Texas was hot but you seem to have us beat.
I think I would literally DIE with that temperature and humidity. In fact,
I lost my favorite horse to heat stress colic a few years back. He was
feeling fine when he went out, bucking and playing like always, and within
an hour he was down with the worst case of colic I have ever witnessed.
The Vet was here within thirty minutes and stayed with him all day. He
tried everything but nothing helped. We finally took him to the clinic
that afternoon and the Vet tried rehydration but it didn't help. We finally
had him put to sleep the next morning about four AM. That was tough and I've
been really cautious of the hot weather ever since.
So you take care ...
