Too true. On some ISPs acessing sites in Australia is quite fast, but you
always lose out when going to an O/S site...

Well, we can demand all we want, but who is going to pay for such a link!
As I recall, Tel$tra now owns/operates the old AARNET link, which is the
only one we have. It does get upgraded every now and then, but never
matches the increase in net users. Just think how much it would cost to lay
a cable from Oz to the US say??? I can think only the government could
easily foot that bill, and well, they couldn't give a stuff...

Well, it just depends where you look. Somewhere like OzEmail is running a
64k link to connect.com, and probably has 50 people on-line at once??
Whereas other ISPs have 64k links with only a few people on at once...
Just look around, but remember, TANSTAAFL!
