As it turns out, parallel columns IS what I was looking for, but I
wasn't familiar with the inner working of them and how WP 5.1D and
WPWin 6.1 differ in its use. I am editing lesson plans that were
originally written in 5.1. 5.1 adds a few codes that are unnecessary in
6.1, so I just had to skim through the document with Find/Replace and
delete the extra codes. All is hunky-dory now, and my formatting stays
as I want it when I need to add extra text. Thanks to ALL of you for
your suggestions!
