Ian,
Check with your local boating supply/repair shop.  They use glass and all 
manner of resins on the real stuff.  Typically you can get what you need for
less than going through a hobby supplier since the boat world is where they 
get it.  A big name in the boat supplies is Petit which just happens to be 
the ones who make the Hobby Poxy line of glues and paints.  
Since flying is dead in my area I'm working on boats now.  Currently 
building a Dumas, 40 foot Coast Guard utility boat.  It's 37" long and will 
use two electric motors.  Not sure what size, my local shop got them and the
gear boxes from Robbe.  I think they're 500's.  Anyway, here's my two cents
