Hello Katie:
Thanks for your answer. In fact, in ObjectPAL, you can even write:
     |   Field    |
     | "All Grey" |
and get the right answers !
But, you begin to get into trouble if you want to use a variable:
----------------
Var
     q  Query
  Item  String
endVar
Item="All Grey"
q= Query
................  |     Field    |  ...
                  | Check  ~Item |
endQuery
...
----------------
In ObjectPAL, putting double quotes around any reserved Paradox word
that might be present in a variable string seems to me to be pretty
involved, although it should fix the problem (but you still waste 2
chars in your field!).
I am not sure you can use a variable in a DOS Query as in a Windows
Query. Do you have the same problem in DOS when you use a variable that
includes a Paradox reserved word ?
